CHAPTER 6:
*Stella,
Stella you there? Stella my dear, do you hear what I was saying Stella? What
are you looking at there? Let us eat else it would not taste nice if you let it
cold. Come on *, persuade Zack towards Stella.
Stella
who seemed shocked by Zack saddened call, quickly change her glance towards the
snails on her plate without knowing when and where did it appeared from. She was
stuttering but it stops when Zack prompted her to start eating the plate of
escargots. Since the only fancy restaurant that Stella has went to is her own
Cream-Pie, she had her eyes stuck on Zack to see how he eats the escargots. Zack
appears to be engrossed eating and did not realize if Stella was looking over
him. He was using the fork to poke the snail one at the time into his mouth and
have it chew down slowly so that he could enjoy the real taste of the
escargots.
Stella
tossed a small smile on her face when Zack turn to look up on her. Eventually,
Stella uses the spoon and scoop a spoonful of snails that have been garnished
with parsley leaf and black pepper seeds into her watery mouth. The taste of
other spices and garlic butter made Stella crave for more of the appetizer and
soon she gobbled down all of it before Zack himself could complete his
escargots. Moments after they had finished eating both their appetizer and main
dishes of Picadillo served with the Mexican local brown rice and a surprised
desert of Ala-Franxico Crème Brulee. Even though she had just finished her
meal, the taste of the ground beef stills remains in her mouth which made her
crave for more.
Stella
stood up from her seats in the living room and wiped her tears away when ever
she recalled the past.
*
God! I hate closing the shop and have my mind relax. Why can’t I forget about
him? What else do you want me to do? *
Tears
started to roll over her cheek bone but it can never continue anymore after so
many days of crying her heart out since the day she knew that she was left
alone. Stella quickly switches her mind to something else and that will be her
dinner. She will always be reminded of food when her memory flashes back to the
part they ate the most tender ground beef that she could ever taste. Stella
walks towards her reach-in refrigerator to check if she could have anything to
eat as an appetizer before she cooks her meal. Immediately Stella stretched out
for her Gucci sling bag and shawl and hustle herself to the supermarket. She
took a glance of the time before she left as she does not want to lost track of
her time once again.
On
her way towards the supermarket, Stella look up her phone and browse through
her phone log, followed by the gallery and also her inbox. Mike has been
repeating over and over since afternoon trying to get through her. Stella felt
hesitance at first to reply Mike’s calling however, her finger just move by
itself and dialed Mike’s contact.
*
Hello Stella, why didn’t you answer my calls or reply my text? Anyway, I’m free
tonight and I was thinking of asking you out. Can we meet up? *
There
was a long silence after Mike threw his question towards Stella. Stella grab hold
onto a pole as the bus turns its way at the T-Junction few stops away before
the supermarket. She took a seat and able to clear her throat before answering
Mike.
*
Stella you there? Hello Stella, can you hear me out? Say something *, urged
Mike
*
Yeah sure, why not having dinner at my place tonight? I’m cooking; so I guess I
see you later at eight sharp.*
The
phone hang and the bus stop directly at the building called ‘Your Market’ and
Stella went aboard. Your market is placed 5 blocks away from her apartment and
the fastest way to reach there is to take the loop bus. It is crowded with
humans who seemed crazy purchasing goods that has as low as a price of garage
sales. So every time when Stella alights there, she would try to obtain as many
products as possible that could last her for one whole week.
Stella
took out a piece of paper together with a pen and start noting down lists of
foods and ingredients that she could purchase on that day. Soon, off she went
into the market and start collecting her to buy list items and put it all
inside the trolley as she move along when she heard someone calling her and
mimicking the voice that she longed for behind her.
***My path can only be right when i'm walking straight with full of confident in me***
